Somer G. Brown

Somer began her personal injury practice in the relentless representation of women and children who were harmed by caretakers and schools. She obtained the largest jury verdict in the State for a student who was sexually abused by a public school teacher and also obtained the largest jury verdict in Louisiana under the Louisiana employment discrimination statute for a disabled employee who was discharged.

Since Hurricane Laura, Somer’s focus has now shifted to 1st party insurance claims for property owners. Somer was first chair at the trial of the very first jury trial in SWLA involving Hurricane Laura and obtained a verdict that resulted in a judgment that was 50X more than the pretrial offer.

Somer has been named as a Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star for the last six years and a Louisiana Super Lawyer for the year 2022. She was born and raised in Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange High School. She and her husband Aaron live in Moss Bluff with their two daughters Aly and Maggie.
